Zan was born and raised in Homer, Alaska. He graduated from Seattle University with a Master of Science in Nursing. Zan is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with both inpatient and outpatient experience. He has been practicing in South Central Alaska since 2015. Zan established Eagle River Behavioral Health in 2020 in response to the pandemic and a need for individualized behavioral health treatment throughout the state.

Zan lives with his family, two dogs, and a bearded dragon in Eagle River. He enjoys fishing and getting out on the water whenever possible.
